CV

I am a computational biologist, physician scientist, and thoracic oncologist. I have research experience in multiple fields, including structural biology, viral evolution, and most recently cancer genomics. I have been fortunate to receive mentorship from Dr. Russ Altman at Stanford University during undergrad, Dr. Raul Rabadan at Columbia University during my MD/PhD training, Drs. Dana Pe’er and Charles Rudin at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center during my hematology/oncology fellowship and postdoctoral training, and have closely collaborated with Drs. Charles Sawyers, Antonio Iavarone, and Helena Yu. My goal now is to develop and apply computational methods using single-cell technologies to address fundamental and translationally impactful questions in cancer evolution with a focus on lineage plasticity. My close connection to the clinic facilitates access to clinical specimens for independent data generation, while maintaining close collaborations to study preclinical models (organoids, PDXs, genetic mouse models) for functional validation. I am well poised to usher any validated targets into the clinical trial space as well. My overarching goal is to make mechanistic insights into histological transformation and other forms of plasticity in cancer that can translate into druggable targets to control this process.
